All Camps and Workshops have a max of 5 students. All students who have Never sewn with a sewing machine before Must attend an intro to sewing class. this class is held 30mins to the start of their camp/workshop.

Dragon Adventure

Do you love hiking or camping?
come sew the perfect outdoorsy vest with enough pockets to carry your finds, a water bottle carrier and bucket hat. 


 

Students who have taken one full year or at least one summer of camps/workshops with me before will have fun learning to use new fabrics. The Dragon camp will use stretch fabrics and the Outdoor camp will use cotton canvas fabric. Beginners who have not sewn with me before will need to be able to follow directions and be will to asking to help as needed as well as have patience with themselves as they learn something new. 

 

Workshop


All Workshops are for beginners who have never sewn before and for those who love to sew! 

Harry Potter Scrappy Tote bag

Thimble and Spool Camp Information & Policies

Intro to Sewing class

​

This is a one time class held 30min before the start of camp on first day.

All campers who have never sewn with a sewing machine MUST attend this class. 

Intro to sewing goes over:

-Sewing with a Machine Students need to know the basics: Threading a machine. Back stitching, pivot, curve, following a seam allowance and pinning.

-Machine and Class room safety

-How to use an Iron

This class insures students understand how to use machines and iron safely. Feel confident in using a machine, iron, and making their projects.

I just fill out the registration form,  what now?

 

1-Payment - Payment is due upon registration via PayPal, an email will be sent after the online form has been filled out. please check you junk mail for the PayPal email. PayPal emails will be sent out with in 24 hours on weekdays, if you registered on a Friday the email may not come until Monday.

​

2- Reminder emails. A reminder email will be sent out 2 weeks before class begins with any other information you will need for the class. If you have questions before then please reach out to me: thimbleandspoolswing@gmail.com

 

3- Sewing Intro Class - First time students will need to attend  a Sewing Intro class to go over sewing basics and safety rules. This class takes place 30 minutes before camp on the first day of camp.

 

Attendance:

 

There is a set fee for each sewing camp regardless of how many days your child attends. I do not prorate cost for days missed. If your child is unable to attend one of the days, the instructor/s may opt to complete the sewing that is done on that day if time permits. If the instructor/s is unable to complete the sewing that is done on the missed day, the unfinished projects will be sent home. 

 

Camp Cancellations:

 

Although I don't foresee any illnesses or weather events, should camp days require cancellation due to instructor illness or weather events ,make up days will be offered. This generally takes place the following Thursday or Friday (weather or illness permitted).

 

Payment:

 

Payment is due when you enroll your child in a camp (or by a specific date specified). Camp fees are not refundable or transferable for cancellations or non-attendance.  

 

What to bring:

 

Each camper will need to bring a small snack and a water bottle to camp each day. No juice/soda only water please.

​

All camps include supplies for projects, sewing machine use and use of all sewing tools.
